Product thinking starts before launch and continues after it

A practical way to keep design, engineering and business outcomes connected.

Article

Start with the operating change

A feature is valuable when it changes an important outcome for a customer or the business. Defining that change gives design and engineering a shared basis for prioritisation.

Release the smallest complete loop

A useful increment includes the customer path, the operational path and enough measurement to learn from real use. A visually complete screen without the surrounding workflow is not a finished product slice.

Let evidence reshape the roadmap

After launch, support patterns and behaviour data should be allowed to challenge the original plan. The roadmap becomes stronger when it records what was learned, not only what was requested.
